I first heard the phrase, White Trash, as a child watching "Gone with the Wind". Scarlett was complaining that her mother had gone off to nurse (midwife) their overseer's "poor white trash" mistress, Emmy Slattery.
What does white trash mean, living like flotsam and jetsam, in chaos, ignorance and violence?
Because life is so hard, the white trash young don't stay beautiful for long. Sometimes you can't even remember they were beautiful once.
I always thought Axl Rose was the most beautiful white trash boy I'd ever seen.
